Because although the whole success story has started quite calmly and basic with a contract tailoring, the heartbeat have definitely not stopped at Mey. Before I begin with the 90-year history of the linen company founded by Franz Mey in Albstadt-Lautlingen in 1928 in a short form and show the values that are at Mey’s, I prefer to start right away with the anniversary campaign. That is the conclusion of the almost 100-year-old linen history on the Alb.

Sustainable and socially responsible action has a long tradition at the family-owned company in Albstadt. This is clearly expressed by the anniversary collection at Mey, one assumes that fashion can do more than look good. In addition to the look and quality, this also includes the environment and people.

Good to know that there are traditional German companies you can rely on
Instead of lace, embroidery & Co., Mey uses clean white cotton for his campaign. What at first glance looks like a simple basic turns out to be a real statement. On the hangtags of the 11-part anniversary campaign, on the inside of the shirts, on the Mey homepage. In various videos. The capsule collection consisting of various T-shirts and lingerie for men and women will be available from mid-April in the online shop and in selected specialist retailers.

And it comes (almost) even better. Fair wages are a matter of course at Mey. But what about the consumer? How consciously do we make our purchase decision? What is the value of fair production conditions, Mey lets us decide ourselves
With the “Pay what you want” campaign, Mey offers its customers the option of choosing the price for two selected T-shirts from the special collection, on selected days of action. The proceeds will be donated to charitable institutions for socially or health disadvantaged children (friends of Kinderklinik des UK Eppendorf e.V., Straßenkinder e.V. The sustainable Mey trend: quality & more
At Mey, the favorite pieces are manufactured under optimal working conditions and compliance with ecological and social criteria. The raw materials and ingredients are selected with the utmost care and responsibility. Production is carried out using state-of-the-art production methods in their own factories (Portugal, Hungary). 80 percent of the materials are still produced by themselves. More than 60 percent of total value added is realized in Germany. The rest in own factories in Europe.

The efficient use of resources and short transport routes protect the environment. The products are bleached and dyed chlorine-free under the strictest human and environmental standards. Mey also makes no compromises in material, quality and workmanship – after all, the laundry is worn on the bare skin. And here one believes in a trend that is sustainable: quality.
Excellent – the certifications at Mey
Mey is the first linen manufacturer to cooperate with bluesign® since 2012. This seal stands for the sustainable production of textiles, the consideration of social standards and the renouncement of polluting substances in the whole. In addition, the products are tested in regular intervals in a medical test procedure at the Institute of Textile and Process Engineering Denkendorf for skin compatibility. Mey is a member of the Fördergemeinschaft körperverträgliche Textilien e.V.
Pretty smart: “Swabian boomerang”
For the most parts, Mey uses environmentally friendly paper cartons. For hygiene reasons protective films are used for some series for which there is still no suitable alternative. Mey, however, is examining how shipping and packaging systems can be further optimized. Good to know: Already more than 20 years ago, Mey closed the “hanger cycle” with the “Swabian boomerang”. The hangers come with hanging goods in the shops, are there collected, sent back to Albstadt and there – before they make their way back to the shops – processed in a workshop for people with disabilities.
