With the Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin sustainable fashion has for many years a unique stage in the capital. No question that the fair in the Postbahnhof at Berlin´s Ostbahnhof has developed to the meeting point for (green-) fashion fans. Divided into street and casual wear (Ethical Fashion Show) and High Fashion (Greenshowroom) pulls this event more and more exhibitors and industry insiders. For me, an encouraging indication that sustainable fashion slowly (but still) leaves his niche and after the sensibly produced food and natural cosmetics finally arrives in the minds of consumers. I can hardly wait to see the great collections of Studio Elsien Gringhuis, Nine to Five, Alina Schürfeld, Goodsociety, Jan ‘n June, AllSisters & Co, to hear the fantastic stories behind the sustainable produced favorite pieces., stimulating conversations with to lead the creators and delve deeper into this pioneering matter due to exciting lectures.
Some highlights of the Greenshowroom
Unfortunately, I can at this point not comment on all labels and events, but would present after the Greenshowroom successively my highlights here on the blog.
Eco-Lingerie of Aikyou
With Aikyou sustainable underwear comes to Berlin. Without push effect, bracket or supporting rods sets the Karlsruhe-based lingerie label the small chest in scene. Aikyou focuses on fine materials, which adapt to the body and are so chic, that they are almost too good for underneath. Thank heavens that straight strapless tops, transparency and coarse mesh to share the view of the delicate jewels. Aikyou? The Japanese woman’s name stands for grace, love and respect. And that is the philosophy that is lived in the sustainable lingerie label. They process materials that are manufactured in Germany or Europe. The Fairtrade organic cotton (GOTS certified) is spun, knitted and dyed in Baden-Wuerttemberg, the cutting is carried out in Croatia. Clasps & Co. are nickel-free, production and packaging is vegan. New: Vegan Pineapple leather by Maravillas Bags
When I tell my friends about rhubarb or pineapple leather, I look only in astonished, then in a maximum of enthusiastic faces. And there are my friends just like me. Refined, innovative materials, that have a positive impact on our environment, fascinate me again and again. And that is why I am looking forward to the first (vegan!) Collection of pineapple leather by Maravillas Bags. Headquartered in Mallorca the accessory label from Christina Bussmann Otte, who has moved after the fashion studies in Florence with her family to Mallorca, manufactures beautiful bags from pineapple fibers. In January, we already talked about. Now I am looking forward to experience the first collection live. Further informations
