Berlin has more Slow Fashion to offer than all other fashion capitals together and has thereby earned the title Slow Fashion Week Berlin absolutely. Plus, the capital does not rest on its reputation as a fair fashion metropolis, but extends its current program

Welcome to the Slow Fashion Week Berlin – FS 2018

Berlin constantly brings new sustainable designers, support programmes, fairs etc. and also acts as a real magnet for international designers to present their collections at the different trade fairs. What I look forward to at the Slow Fashion Week Berlin from 4 to 6.7.2017?

Slow Fashion Week Berlin, Location # 1: Greenshowroom

With its sustainable fair duo Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show, Berlin hosts the largest European B2B platform for sustainable designers. What to expect this season? A lot

New location: Funkhaus

The green trade fair duo is growing continuously and has got a new, dreamy XL-location with the historic Funkhaus at the river Spree. Finally, everything once again takes place under one roof. The shows no longer need to be outsourced. And thanks to the extended available space, the structure could be somewhat revised

Business Lounge

I am particularly interested in the business lounge “INSPIRED // The Dutch Sustainable Business Lounge”, where Dutch labels, artists and studios will present their innovative concepts. With it: e.g. Elsien Gringuis, Mud Jeans, Myomy do goods, Studio Jux …

Greenshowroom x Fashion Council Germany

The winners of the mentoring program for sustainable in working Berlin designers of the Fashion Council GermanyPhilomena Zanetti and Benu Berlin – show their fantastic collections this time in the Funkhaus. I have reported from the two Berlin labels here. Of course, I will visit the two.

prePeek x Fashion Changers

My dear fair-fashion blogger colleagues Vreni von Jäckle und Hösle, Nina of Pink & Green Blog, Jana of Not another Woman Mag support this time the innovative prePeek concept, which took place in January for the first time in cooperation with the Kleiderei from Hamburg. What a nice idea, because here bloggers have the opportunity to get in touch with the new collections of designers directly, to let themselves shooten in their favorite looks.

New designers at the Greenshowroom

In addition to the new collections of “old acquaintances” I am looking forward this time to the new entries of e.g. The Swedish knitwear label Maska and the young eco-label Movinun from Slovenia. Let’s see which fantastic labels the Greenshowroom will show. I will keep you up to date…

Slow Fashion Week Berlin, Location #2: Berliner Mode Salon

With exciting shows and a curated group exhibitions of German design talents, the event has been taking place in the elegant Berlin Kronprinzenpalais at Unter den Linden for several seasons. In addition to the show of Vanessa Schinder, the winner of the Hyères festival, I am looking forward to the splendidly slow produced collections from among others. Tim Labenda, Malaika Raiss, Nobi Talai, etc.

Slow Fashion Week Berlin, Location #3: Kaufhaus Jandorf

One of the highlights for me is the Designer for Tomorrow Show by Peek & Cloppenburg. Again this year under the patronage of Stella McCartney. From the finalists Lisa Haas, Fatima Danielsson, Lara Krude, Marcella Lobo and Fanni Varga, Stella McCartney, together with the jury, selects the “Designer for Tomorrow 2017”. In addition to the young talents at DfT, I am mainly on the shows of e.g. Ioana Ciolacu and Nathini van der Meer.

Slow Fashion Week Berlin, Location #4: Selvedge Run

This is about quality and not about mass consumption. I have already reported of the “Trade Show for Quality Garments and Crafted Goods” at the Berlin Kulturbrauerei

Slow Fashion Week Berlin, Location #5: Innatex Lounge

With the Innatex Lounge at the FluxBau, another major trade fair for sustainable textiles is coming to Berlin. Although not with exhibitors and stands, they only show up a little later in Hofheim am Taunus. Because in Berlin this is about networking in a great ambience. I am looking forward to meet old acquaintances and new faces.
