Since my first contact with the collection I’m a XL fan of Philomena Zanetti. Whether avantgarde-inspired classics like the white blouse (my Eco-Darling Post can be found here), available in the actual summer collection, gently flowing, long floor-length pants or perfectly cut organic sweater. I love every single clean part of the Berlin-based. And with her label Philomena Zanetti makes designer and label founder Julia Leifert not only fantastic high fashion favorite pieces – she also works sustainable. And celebrating her personal Summertime with us.
That’s the Summertime collection of Philomena Zanetti
With her spring / summer collection 2017 Philomena Zanetti shows for the second time a wonderfully minimalist, unexcited collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Graphic elements and clear lines also characterize this collection. In the packed me Collector’s Room in the Berlin Auguststraße in Mitte Julia Leifert sent a whole range of delicate ice cream colors of vanilla and almond and pistachio on the catwalk. Confident combined with dark tones.
Inspiration was the constructivism in the Soviet architecture. So I read at least in the collection text. But fashion acts on each other. I saw in any case a wonderful Summertime collection with an extra dose of good-mood feeling for warm summer days. Delicate flowing fabrics for summer, delicate shorts and bermudas in rosé in combination with a apricot colored sweater. Perfect too: the small rounded collar, which gives the relaxed look a wonderfully brave rotation. High closed blouses with sophisticated button bar at the back. And floor-length, waving pants with wide legs. The shoes? Relaxed Birkenstock sandals in white and pink. The combination with the small hole pattern socks I found so great that I want to try the same.
Sustainable Materials at Philomena Zanetti
Julia Leifert uses fair methods of production (the collections are designed in Berlin and produced under fair conditions in Europe) and consistently pursues a non-Violence philosophy. The convinced vegan used for her collections lots Organic Cotton and Tencel. The biological silk for her magnificent silks is extracted gently from the cocoons of already hatched larvae. In this collection also cork and paper were used – as for the wonderful white paper dress with dark brown cork applications and short cork apron.
Conclusion: If I had decide a part of this relaxed-elegant collection – I do not know what I would tell a favorite piece. The next summer is just around the corner!
