After the Fashion Week is before the Fashion Week – and in this case it is only a few days until the (fair) fashion crowd meets again in Berlin to discover the collections for autumn \/ winter 2017\/18. Time for my TOP 10 (fair) Fashion MeetUp<\/p>\n

Fashion MeetUp # 1: 10 years Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin<\/h3>\n

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has been taking place for the last ten years (!). And yes, I was there from the first moment. And yes, I love the turbulent days of January and July, the inspirational experiences<\/strong>, the creativity, the meeting of old companions … And that is why I feel like I have to take a quick glance backwards Berlin can not compete with New York and Paris as a fashion metropolis, the German fashion week<\/strong> has created a very special theme – fantastic German fashion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Berlin, fantastic German fashion is the focus <\/div><\/div><\/span><\/h4>\n

And that was exactly the right way. Because Berlin had never wanted to “compete” with other fashion capitals. And we do not need to squint anywhere. Because Germany has excellent talents<\/strong>, who speak a very clear design language<\/strong>, send fantastic collections to the runway twice a year. Designers who make fashion that is nowhere to be hidden. Thumbs up<\/strong> for German Fashion Week and German design!<\/p>\n

Fashion MeetUp # 2: The Fashion Tent<\/h3>\n

Everything started at Bebelplatz<\/strong>. Ten years ago, this was the first fashion tent. Right next to the impressive St. Hedwigs Cathedral and the magnificent “Hotel de Rome”. Unfortunately, it had to give way from there because of various resistances – quite apart from that the place Unter den Linden rear and front was no longer sufficient. Several new stations followed on Stra\u00dfe des 17. Juni<\/strong> at the Brandenburg Gate. It was also not easy to get to the Erika Hess Stadium<\/strong> in Wedding because of the dismantling of the soccer fan mile during the European Championship and World Cup years.<\/p>\n

Welcome to Mitte – the MBFWB has a new home <\/div><\/div><\/span><\/h4>\n

So and now there is on time to the 10th anniversary a new location on which I am really very excited. On 17 January 2017, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin will open its doors for the first time at the Kaufhaus Jandorf in Mitte.<\/p>\n

Fair Fashion MeetUp # 3: Speaking of new location: Salonshow<\/span><\/h3>\n

Also the Salonshow<\/a> and the Ethical Fashion on Stag<\/strong>e, the two Runwayshows taking place as part of the Greenshowroom<\/a>, are waiting this time with a new location. So far on the grounds of the Postbahnhof on the street of the Pariser Kommune, the two sustainable shows are moving into the neighboring Energieforum<\/strong> at Stralauer Platz,\u00a0 Again, more space was urgently needed. Here I am looking forward to sustainable designs from the collections of u.a. Johanna Riplinger, Lanius<\/a>, Lanius X Kunert, Studio Elsien Gringhuis<\/a> and Studio Jux<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fair-Fashion-MeetUp #4: Greenshowroom – Fair Fashion Spot No.1<\/span><\/h3>\n

Here I am looking forward to the reunion with the ever-growing group<\/strong> of great designers who present their Slow Fashion collections<\/strong>. My last season’s review<\/strong> is here<\/a>. New: Maria Seifert<\/a>, whose sustainable collections I’ve been watching for a long time. The two sustainable fairs are accompanied by an exciting supporting program with lectures, among others. On the topics of transparent supply chains and a panel discussion on plastic in the water and the role of the fashion industry. Certainly very exciting: the topic “ActiveSlow”. Here, Manufactum and the school Esmod Berlin show a selection of prototypical functional clothing.<\/p>\n

Fair Fashion MeetUp # 5: Do not miss – VinoKilo x Berlin Fashion Week<\/span><\/h3>\n

In 18 events, Vinokilo has breathed new life into more than 35,000 clothes with its pop-up events. The concept: vintage kilo sale + wine tasting = sustainability with much joy. On 18.1. There will be a Fashionshow<\/strong> (by invitation) in the Spreewerkst\u00e4tten<\/strong>. In the following days installations<\/strong> will take place and on 20.1. you can buy fantastic vintage favorites<\/strong> for a kilo price. For more information, see Facebook<\/a><\/p>\n

Old is the new New: VinoKilo x Berlin Fashion Week<\/p><\/div>\n

Fair-Fashion-MeetUp # 6: Shows, which I am especially looking forward to<\/span><\/h3>\n

Julia Leifert shows again in the me collecters room – I am a confessed fan of the pure minimalist look of her label Philomena Zanetti<\/a>. I am curious about the choice of sorbet colors for the summer season. The Austrian designer Rebekka Ruetz<\/a> (Fashion-Zelt Kaufhaus Jandorf) with her refined, home-inspired looks has remained faithful to her style for years without being tiring. Accordingly, I am curious how she is reinventing herself again this time. I also threw a special eye on Malaikaraiss<\/strong>, who will show at the Berliner Mode Salon (Humboldt Forum). Fair Fashion MeetUp # 7: The Berliner Mode Salon<\/span><\/h3>\n

During a tour of the exhibition halls of the Berliner Mode Salon<\/strong> in the fashionable Kronprinzenpalais Unter den Linden, I am always amazed. This is where the entire German design elite is gathered, and at the latest, one is always aware of what Germany has for fantastic designers<\/strong>. The highlight of the three-day event is definitely the curated group exhibition on January 18, 2017. I am particularly looking forward to: all the participants Design talents<\/strong>. And in particular? Tim Labenda, Lala Berlin, William Fan, Martina Hoermannseder, Nobi Talai … Here, too, there is an additional location: In addition to the Kronprinzenpalais and the Humboldt Forum in the Berliner Schloss, the autumn \/ winter collections 2017\/18 will also be in the former Staatsratsgeb\u00e4ude<\/strong> – today’s ESMT Berlin – and the Kaiserlichen Telegraphenamt<\/strong> (eg Marina Hoermannseder).<\/p>\n

I am also looking forward to two events with many like-minded people: the INNATEX Lounge<\/strong> (for those who do not know this fair: the INNATEX is the world’s largest fair for sustainable textiles) and one of the fantastic ambitious fairfashion bloggers initiated blogger lounge<\/strong>, I will meet old acquaintances and new faces of like-minded Fairfashion fans.<\/p>\n

Fashion-MeetUp #9: The Shop @ MBFWB : See-Now-Buy-Now<\/h3>\n

What have seen last summer at the shows of Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger & Co., now comes with the MBFWB also to Germany. With the new See-Now-Buy-Now concept, designers are trying to make their collections available to the interested public more quickly<\/strong>. Nearly in real-time<\/strong> on Instagram, Live-Streams & Co. on the runways, fashion enthusiasts still have to wait about six months to finally buy the new “must-have parts” at the shops. See-Now-Buy-Now shortens the waiting time<\/strong> (and ensures that the hype on the social media has not yet eclipsed), in which the runway looks are already available shortly after the show.<\/p>\n

New Consumer Concept in Berlin: See-Now-Buy-Now <\/div><\/div><\/span><\/h4>\n

Does not correspond to my idea of Slow-Fashion, but I’ll look at the whole thing, of course. In the lobby of the Kaufhaus Jandorf in Berlin, they will be available in the autumn \/ winter 2017\/18-parts of these 14 designers: Atelier About, Barre Noire, Hien Le, Holy Ghost, Ivan Sean, Malaikaraiss, Michael Sontag, Perret Schaad, Philomena Zanetti, Riani, Stonerohner, Strenesse, Vector, Vladimir Karaleev. Tue to Thu: 9am-8pm. Fri 9 am – 7 pm<\/p>\n

Fashion MeetUp # 10: International Stars – How important are they?<\/h3>\n

This is always a topic: Fashion Week in Berlin has no international stars<\/strong> in the front rows<\/strong>. But do we really need it? In my opinion, it is not a question of attracting international celebrities in droves to Berlin. Clearly the Tilda Swintons<\/strong>, Jessica Albas & Co. are well in front of the cameras. And yes, the media attention is growing through their presence. But actually it is about fashion<\/strong>. And that is definitely still the focal point<\/strong> in Berlin. It is not so much about the endless self-actors<\/strong> who want to swim on the Fashion Week wave<\/strong>. Quite apart from this, in Germany we have fantastic actors from Emilia Sch\u00fcle<\/strong> to Hannah Herzsprung<\/strong>. What do we need Hollywood<\/strong> for? We can also glamor<\/strong> alone!<\/p>\n
