The Rocksresort (from Wallpaper awarded with the Design Award for the best new ski resort, 2010) live up at first glance to its name. The entire mountain is operated here by hydropower, is heated with renewable biomass and the lifts are solar-powered. Recently the 30-year old chairlift was replaced and with the proceeds, the project “Energy without frontiers” supports a charity for victims of the earthquake in Nepal.
