For the second time, the Selvedge Run will take place at the Berlin Fashion Week. With the Kulturbrauerei Berlin the trade fair has found a perfect location, because this historical spot symbolizes perfectly the tradition and craftsmanship, which is the concept of the Selvedge Run. Identified as „Trade Show for Quality Garments and crafted Goods“ the Selvedge Run is a collection of wonderful, slow labels that are characterized by their quality, sustainable and fair production methods and the timelessness of their collections. A really exciting and long overdue approach. In January, I unfortunately did not make it to the Selvedge Run, but this time I will definitely go there.

The documentary “Weaving Shibusa” celebrates Germany’s premiere at the trade fair. Here the exciting history of Japanese craftsmanship and the passion for denim are illuminated. The legendary vintage denim experts “Osaka 5”, who inspired many brands and made Japanese denim a synonym for quality, comment this topic. This is not just about an intense look at the denim production in Japan. Critical questions are also being asked about the future and development of the industry. And these can be deepened after the screening, as both the producer Kiya Babzani and a part of the cast will answer your questions.
