ANZEIGE

Academy Awards 2016: Leonardo di Caprio

The blazing speech of Leonardo Caprio, who was finally able to take home his long overdue Oscar (Best Actor for “The Revenant”), is unforgotten. Of course, not before the committed environmental activist has sent a committed plea for environmental protection around the world:

Climate change is real, it is the most urgent threat facing our species. Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted. – Leonardo di Caprio

The lowland #rainforest of the Leuser Ecosystem are considered the world’s best remaining habitat for the critically endangered Sumatran #elephant. In these forests, ancient elephant migratory paths are still used by some of the last #wild herds of Sumatran elephants. But the expansion of Palm Oil plantations is fragmenting the #forest and cutting off key elephant migratory corridors, making it more difficult for elephant families to find adequate sources of food and water. The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation is supporting local partners to establish a mega-fauna sanctuary in the Leuser Ecosystem, last place on Earth where Sumatran orangutans, tigers, rhinos and elephants coexist in the wild. Berlinale 2017: Richard Gere

And a few days ago, Hollywood-Beau Richard Gere, who is constantly working on political issues, has fought for the homeless, committed himself to the human rights of the Tibetans and used his stay in Berlin to express his opinion. First he paid a visit to Claudia Roth and then to Angela Merkel. Finally, he used the subsequent press conference for his film “The Dining” to present his thoughts on the American President, who had just been elected to the White House. He points out that hate crimes had grown since Trump rules.

Fashion-Oscar: Red Carpet Green Dress

Suzy Amis Cameron uses a possibility to draw attention to the effects of the fashion industry on people and the environment. With Red Carpet Green Dress, her fashion campaign launched in 2009, she proves with selected designers and jewelery makers that sustainability-produced evening gowns are 150% red carpet-compatible.

We have the scope for massive global impact and together can help spread the important message of sustainability – Suzy Amis Cameron

Last year, Red Carpet Green Dress won Lily Cole as a prominent face wearing a Vivienne Westwood dress from recycled PET bottles at the Academy Awards. “Game of Thrones” Star Sophie Turner ensured with a fair produced Galvan London dress a flurry of flashlights.

And now on 26.2. it´s again “And the Oscar goes to… Well “La La Land”, star-studded with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, is nominated countless times and will certainly be able to win the one or the other statue. It is wonderful to have … women like Emma and Priyanka who hold such a prominent place in the fashion world, who share my vision to create more consciously, to positively impact the environment and make the world a better place for our children to grow up in. Together we truly can make a difference. – Suzy Amis Cameron

Finally, it is official: Emma Roberts and Priyanka Bose (six nominations for her role in “LION”) will wear exclusive pieces from the first real jewelery collection from the Atelier Swarovski. The fair-priced caprices are launched within the framework of the 89th Academy Awards. Atelier Swarovski is a member of the Responsible Jewelery Council (RJC), an organization that is committed to responsible social and environmental practices.

And now, it’s still a little exciting, because we have to be a little bit more patient with regard to the winners’ films of the evening and the final choice of the sustainable wardrobes of the red carped Green Dress Testimonials.
