Big in business? Absolutely! One or the other male colleague may pass us by during our professional years. But only on the career ladder. For what relates to teamwork, ambition and empathy (the list could be continued for quite a long time), we have the other gender proven to be ahead. Although this does not always pay off in a large salary, in the long term the investment in such assets is much more sustainable.
Teamwork, ambition and empathy – investing in sustainable values
And because we women have enough power and creativity, most of us have long since – apart from the classic-rigid hierarchies in publishers, corporations & Co. goals – their own goals that are worth fighting for. Effortless, time-consuming and not always easy. But the commitment to equality, human rights, the environment – in short, sustainable goals that make the world a little better – is so much fun that you’re ready to take on a lot and give up all sorts of free time.
These business basics make my everyday life easier
And because sustainability feels so good, smart Boss babes rely on clever business basics from recycled fishing nets, organic cotton, timeless classics and favorite pieces from the projects of other girlbosses. Et voila: These parts make my everyday life easier:
Notebook Case by Ecoalf
Lightweight and padded. Ultraclean and superchic – the laptop cases from Ecoalf have done to me. Because here design meets maximum sustainability. The Spanish label uses recycled materials to conserve natural resources and stop the garbage mountain from growing. For my laptop case made of recycled fishing nets, the planet was again relieved by some plastic. Incidentally, since 2017, there has been an Ecoalf hotspot outside of Spain with the Berlin flagship store. Unfortunately, my organizer is sold out. But the alternative is great too. Organizer about 39 euros, at ecoalf.com
Because there is no Planet B
iPad Case by People Wear Organic x Michael Michalsky
Michael Michalsky makes common cause with People Wear Organic? I immediately became clairaudient. The Berlin designer always turns up at German labels, when the design gets a little facelift or the collection a bit fresh wind. And so did the Capsule Collection “Style for Thought”, which Michalsky designed for the German Eco label. From now on, the gorgeous clean (GOTS and Fairtrade certified) iPad case is part of my business basics. That’s what I always need, if the Mac book is too heavy for me (or away on travel, if I have forgotten my clutch). To 19,90 Euro, at alnatura-shop.de
Montblanc masterpiece
The pen comes from times when sustainability was not an issue, but a normal condition. Because my father has given me this pen for the exam, because he has already written his exam with this pen. It is not for nothing that the masterpiece is called an icon of writing culture. And I will use it just as long until I pass it on to one of my daughters. Quite cheap, the good piece is not with 760 euros, but it is a timeless investment in the future. At montablanc.com
Apple Watch x TOMS
Of the wearables you may think, what you want. My life actually makes it easier. For people who do not have a “9 to 5” job at the desk, such a small office manager on the wrist is just great. I do not miss any calls, mails and more. Can unobtrusively send a message in meetings that I just can not speak and I am politely reminded that I should occasionally breathe again. Does not hurt 🙂 And in combination with my beloved TOMS bracelet, the business-butler is also pretty chic. Plus: TOMS donates solar light for one person per need for one year for each job sold. The watches are available on apple.com and the bracelets can be found here
Lipgloss by Und Gretel
Business basics or not – for a quick make-over may never be missing in my handbag a decent lip gloss. This ensures a dazzling smile in the blink of an eye and, in an emergency, can also make the cheeks shine as a rouge. Lip gloss “Knutzen”, around 36 euros, at undgretel.com
notepad
Sorry, I’m totally old fashioned. While others type in their phone, I still pull a notebook or booklet out of my purse. Currently this super-chic block of Real Passionates accompanies me. By the way, founder Ariane Janisch has worked for a long time in advertising agencies until she has fulfilled her true desire with her own label and can now fully dedicate her passion for design, paper and CI as the boss in her own house. The cool notepad is available for 12.90 Euros at realpassionates.com
