When the leaves turn into gold and copper in the autumn, nature in Leogang becomes an incomparable spectacle. And this colorful wonder is always in your view in the most familiar nature hotel of the Alps – from the bed, from the pool and from the sauna. Only the Leogang mountains hide at this time of the year a little behind the clouds. But that’s okay. Because I getaway now for a few days – in the outdoor whirlpool, in one of the magnificent saunas, cuddled in a fluffy bathrobe on a daybed at the organic bathing pond or in the resting room, in my bed. Hiking, biking, skiing – this is also fantastic here. But now XXL relaxation is announced.

Forsthofgut – Welcome to the most familiar nature hotel in the Alps
Home is not a geographic term, it is in yourself. It is not possible to describe the feeling that accompanies one in the Forsthofgut more precisely than in the words of Andrey Sinjawski (1925 – 1997). This lived hospitality, which one can not learn, but has, if one leads a house in the third generation. For just as long is the forestry property in family ownership. Exactly 400 years ago this was established as a k.u.k. forestry company. Warmth that surrounds you, while you finally read your favorite book, enjoy a steaming tea from the XL selection, or just experience the moment consciously … Unlimited enjoyment I would say, if I have to describe the Forsthofgut with two words (Although I would still have at least two handful matching terms in stock). Because here you can enjoy with all your senses. Every moment. From the view into the mountains, the cuddly bed (with my favorite pillow menu), the beautiful forest SPA, the food …

Our room? Generously cut, wonderfully bright (with balcony!), Natural materials – a lot of wood, felt & Co. bring the omnipresent nature into the house. Here you can feel safe. The more suitable the name, because the swallow’s nest is our cozy retreat in the coming days. My small wellness paradise: the open bath (even in the bathtub accompany the Leogang mountains). With the first foot I put into the new building complex it is clear to me: The waldSPA is a special place. A natural place of silence. Outside the window the Leogang mountains and around me? Splendid warmth, fragrant wood, a maximum of cuddly retreats for moments of luxurious idleness. A paradise for body and spirit – for adults from 16 years of age, because the kids have their own area with the waldWirbel to swim, rage and of course saun.

Where I spent most of my time? In the Leogang stadlSAUNA. At the top. On the roof. Almost in the clouds. Here, twice a day, a fragrant infusion takes place. Olive, lime, local herbs peel, nurture and pamper my skin. And if my husband did not met me there? Then he just looked for my flip-flops before the eco-sauna, the steam bath etc. or in the over-the-top hot tub 🙂 Or in the 25-meter-long infinity-swimming-pool bergFRISCHE with mountain view. Here you can relax in peace, get a whiff of fresh air or participate in the wonderful Aquafitness-sessions.

After a short walk, you will be able to fill the lungs with an extra portion of forest air, an invigorating Kneipp bath or the stimulating relaxation path with cones, stones, Moss & Co. it is called with all the senses R.E.L.A.X. Because the Waldlichtung is incomparable. An energizing place of rest, power, sensuality. Amidst the breathtaking-scented nature. Accompanied by the rustling of the wind in the treetops and the singing of birds in the evening hours, one finds here to its inner center. For nothing is as fast and lasting as dropping in nature. Journey to Myself – my re-discovery of yoga
Actually, I am a night owl – late to bed and turn around in the bed again in the morning. But already when I checked in, I looked forward to the wonderful bed and my personal pillow menu (cedar, neck, etc.), where I went immediately after the dinner (!). But nothing to sleep long. Something seems to me to lend Superpower, because I actually made the next morning at 8 o´clock (before the breakfast!) Into the Yoga session. What can I say: Free, energetic and relaxed one day can not begin. New entry on my to-do list: Regularly doing yoga. Check. And thanks, Mandi, for the fantastic hour!

The cuisine? Naturally enjoy. Regional and sustainable.
Breakfast until 11 am – full score for it, so you start without time pressure into the day. No panic leaving the cuddly swallow’s nest through ugly alarm clock. And enough time for an invigorating yoga session, appetizing Nordic walking etc. My appetite was enormous thanks to my re-entry into yoga and so I could try some. Crisp-fresh fruit and vegetables moved in the juicer, delicious (regional!) Cheese specialties on my plate. My goodness, see the omelets delicious. And the honey from the honeycomb. And the homemade jams, spreads, tea variations, fresh breads …

It is hard to believe that you are hungry enough for the afternoon snack again (also included in the pampered lodging). But the light soups, fresh salads, small food and (hmmm!) Flour dishes looks so delicious, that you have to try at least a little. In the evening five fantastic courses from the “Green Toque ” cuisine are waiting for us in a really pleasant size. The herbs, which give every dish a wonderful flavor? Of course, also the own herb garden. Really regional.

Enjoyment at the highest level can be found in the excellent fine dining restaurant “Echt. Gut Essen” (among other things,” Restaurant of the Year “from” Der große Restaurant & Hotel Guide 2016″). Here gourmet chef Michael Helfrich conjures his wonderful creations with seasonal products from his Leogang region combined with his international experience. Tip: Absolutely reserve, because the small, fine room is quickly booked. Prima idea: For an extra charge with the dinner is charged.
Paradise for small and big children
With the waldWIRBEL, families have their own spa area with indoor and outdoor pool and various saunas, steam bath & Co. With the sauna you can finally not start early enough 🙂 And so that the little ones feel really well, this area – in contrast to the waldSPA – NOT textile free. Small beginners start at a comfortable 40 degrees in the Murmeltiersauna – professionals linger in the 90 degrees warm Fichtensauna. And in between, the experience shower provides for a wet and joyful change.

Of course, this is an indoor spa. But the children’s program often takes place outdoors. Even my 11-year-old daughters were still fascinated by the PINZGAUER miniGUT, the farm in the XS format, with the cute rabbits, cackling chickens, moaning goats & Co. game and the Tarzan run was woven on the forest playground – but not quite so long as usual. Finally, the swimming pool called again …

It is lived here. The organic bathing lake, the drinking water from its own source (animated according to Grander), the regional seasonal “Green Toque” – cuisine (vegetarian, vegan etc.) with over 200 organic products alone at breakfast are sustainable areas, which the guest directly experienced. In the background, the sustainability concept of the Forsthofgut continues a lot further: wood-chip heating, heat recovery, waste separation and prevention by reduced packaging. FSC paper is used for all printing. And when the Mauthof is put into operation again next year, many products are not only regional, but also from the local farm.
